How much do you remember about Pentecost? Read the story in Acts:2
Until the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples; they were afraid and remained hidden in their homes. They were afraid of the Romans, of going to prison, or even being killed. No one was preaching. No one was talking, except to each other, and then in whispers.
What happened to them? How did they become bold and unafraid to speak out? What changed in their lives? First Jesus changed them but then when he died they were still afraid. Even when He had risen and showed Himself, they were still frighten. But when the Holy Spirit came, they became BOLD! They were no longer afraid of anything, even death. They started preaching and winning converts to Jesus. They went out into all parts of their world, spreading the Good News.
Do you ever wonder if you have the Holy Spirit working in You? If you do, then look for change. What has changed in your life? How do you feel differently? Has your attitude changed? Change is different for each one of us, but change will occur in some fashion.
For me, there have been many changes over the years. One of the biggest has been going from an introvert to an extrovert. I am no longer afraid to speak out, especially when God has His hand in it. Come to church on May 27th and see for yourselves. God has given me a message on suffering which I hope will answer some of your questions as to why there is suffering in this world. Meanwhile, God bless!
